For every inch of rise needed when building a ramp, you have to have one foot of the ramp itself. This can often lead to difficulties fitting a ramp in certain yards. Safety and efficiency are key traits of the VPL. Each lift comes with a spring sensitive bottom plate that will stop the VPL from moving with as little as four pounds of pressure, ensuring you will not lower onto anything but flat surface. A balloon could even stop it without popping. When the lift is at the bottom, an automatic self lowering fold ramp extends making wheelchair access simple. Optionally, you may also get platform landing gates and/or top landing gates as extra safety measures.
